Start with the source
Trezor.io/start is the official onboarding route for new Trezor hardware wallet users. When you’re ready to begin, type the address yourself or use the link on this page, then check the domain carefully before continuing. A search result, social post, or message can point somewhere that looks convincing without being genuine.
This page is an independent getting-started overview. It does not distribute device software, ask for wallet details, or replace manufacturer instructions. The official Trezor setup experience explains the correct process for your specific model and current software version. Read those instructions in full, and pause if a screen or request seems unexpected.
Before you connect your device
Give yourself a few unhurried minutes and choose a private place. Use a computer or phone you trust, install software only when directed from Trezor’s official website, and keep your device nearby. Check that packaging and device condition meet the manufacturer’s guidance. If anything feels tampered with or inconsistent, stop and contact official support rather than trying to work around it.
Follow the on-screen flow in order. Your device may ask you to confirm actions directly on its display; read each prompt and verify important details on the device itself. Never let anyone else control the setup, even if they claim to be support. Legitimate support should not need your secret recovery words.
THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE
Keep recovery words private
Your recovery seed is the backup to your wallet. Write it down exactly as instructed and store it offline somewhere secure and private. Never photograph it, save it in a note or cloud drive, type it into a website, or share it with another person. Anyone who obtains it may be able to access your assets. If a website or caller asks you to enter or reveal it, stop immediately.
Make security a habit
After setup, bookmark the official resources you actually use and be wary of urgent messages about upgrades, rewards, or account problems. Navigate to official help pages yourself instead of following unexpected links. Keep your device PIN private, review transaction information on the device before approval, and learn the recovery process from official documentation before you need it.
Build a short verification pause into each transaction: check the recipient, amount, and network, then compare what appears on your hardware wallet with what you intended to do. If the details differ, reject the action and investigate independently. Good security is less about memorizing every threat and more about repeating a few careful checks.
For current model-specific guidance, visit Trezor Learn. If you need assistance, use the contact and support options listed at Trezor Support. These official resources are the right place to verify details that may change over time.
A SMALL FINAL CHECK
Slow is smooth.
Take it one step at a time.
Use the manufacturer’s instructions, keep recovery information to yourself, and ask official support when uncertain. A careful beginning is a good foundation for managing your own digital assets.
